Route Darwin is a game with augmented reality for mobile devices (Android), which allows through the devices camera to point to a map of the route made by Charles Darwin aboard the Beagle (available for download at http://163.10.22.82 /OAS/MapaInteractivoRD.jpg) and learn about some of their experiences at different points of the tour.In addition, after watching a video with Darwins story about his experiences at each point, a trivia is presented, which if correctly replenished allows you to win a medal.
Thus, the objective of the game is to complete an album of medals from the route through different ports in which Darwin was on his trip aboard the Beagle.By correctly answering the questions along the way, the participants get collectible medals.This educational project is based on a cooperation agreement of the LIDI Institute for Research in Informatics of the Faculty of Informatics of the National University of La Plata with the Undersecretariat of Management and Dissemination of Knowledge, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Buenos Aires province.The application can be used by other educational institutions or people who want to explore the trip of the naturalist in more detail.
It is intended for a primary and secondary school audience (10 to 16 years old), but anyone with interest can enjoy it.Initially it was intended to be used on tablets, but it is also possible to have fun when playing from a cell phone.This application is distributed under a Creative Commons non-profit license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/).
In short, anyone is free to use it nonprofit and recognizing the authors.
